Lot 3036 SCARCE FD BLISS POCKET REVOLVER.
Cal. 25 RF. S# 1276. Bbl. 3 1/4". Post front sight. Fixed rear sight. Scarce FD Bliss Pocket Revolver with only 3000 units made between 1863-1864. These revolvers were notable for their unique removable plate at rear of cyl. Consignor states that he purchased this example from noted New Hampshire dealer & collector Dick Littlefield in 1996. Hardwood grips that both have matching assembly number to grip frame. CONDITION: grips have an older varnish finish over dings & handling marks with some scattered finish loss. Metal has a light gray appearance with scattered light pitting, some handling marks & strong bluing on cyl. Action appears functional when hand cycled. Bore has strong rifling with a few spots of pitting. (01-26722/MJC). ANTIQUE. $800-1,200.
